Interior trunk access (if so equipped)

The trunk can be accessed from the rear seat for loading and unloading, as shown.

1. Stow the outboard seat belts with the clip before folding the rear seatbacks.

When folding the passenger’s side rear seatback, first disconnect and stow the center seat belt. See “Stowing the rear center seat belt” later in this section.

2. Pull up on the strap A located on the top outboard side of the seat to be folded.

3. Fold the seatback down.

● Never allow anyone to ride in the cargo area or on the rear seat when it is in the fold-down position. Use of these areas by passengers without proper restraints could result in serious injury in an accident or sudden stop.

Keep the car locked, with the rear seatback and trunk lid securely latched when not in use, and prevent children’s access to car keys.

Folding the rear cushions and seatbacks (if so equipped)

1. Lift up on the front edge of the seat cushion and fold it toward the front of the vehicle.

2. The headrests must be removed before folding down the seatbacks. To remove the headrests, push and hold the lock knob 1 while moving the headrest in an upward direction.

Store the headrest properly so it is not loose in the vehicle.

3. To return the headrest to the normal position, align the headrest stalks with the holes in the seat. Push and hold the lock knob 1 and push the headrest down.

Properly adjust the headrest before an occupant uses the seating position.

4. Fold down seatbacks. See “Interior trunk access” earlier in this section.
